How to Repair Car Paint Damage : Tips for Using a Spray Gun to Paint a Car

Hi, I’m Doug I work with 20 great guys in
St. Louis at Doug Jenkins Custom Hot Rods and we are going to do some work for your
today on Expert Village. Most of the work we do we use 2 different guns. This is for
painting most of the whole car it is a larger capacity, larger volume gun. For the repair
that we are doing today Dan is using just a repair gun. It is smaller volume, lower
pressures, it is easier to blend it has a smaller tip, it shots less material. The smaller
gun is easier for repairs it puts out less material, less air pressure, it does not blow
stuff all over the room. One trick that we are going to have today though when shooting
the flake is it going to go through the smaller holes of the smaller gun. We are going to
have to do some experimenting to see if that would work out for use. There is 3 reasons
why Dan wears the latex gloves one is to protect his hands from getting dirty cause that is
ugly looking at the end of the day. The second is because the paint if bad for you. Nothing
that you are doing here you want it in or near your body. The third reason is there
is nothing on his body that we want our the vehicle we want to keep the vehicle clean
of any containments that might be on his hands.
