Classic Car Restoration: Body Work : How to Shape Metal for Car Restoration

Hi, I’m Doug I work with 20 great guys in
Saint Louis at Doug Jenkins Custom Hot Rods and we are going to do some work for you today
on Expert Village. Now Alex would be bending the piece that he has cut to match the piece
that we have removed from the car. Now we are going to be putting a bend in the piece.
This is the piece that replaces the fender lip and he would, it is kind of tough with
a curve piece like this but he would be knocking it over to get a good 90 degree bend in the
piece. That would reproduce the edge in the fender. It is kind of a frustrating job to
do to try to get something like this perfect. You can wish there was a tool that you can
say here make it look like this but it is really is just putting on the vice, banging
on it, cutting it a little bit, bending it with your fingers, and getting it as good
as you can.
