I’m Jerry Reynolds the car pro with your
automotive news in sixty seconds. Toyota is outlining an ambitious plan to slash
CO2 emissions 90-percent by 2050. It involves selling 30,000 fuel cell vehicles
and doubling hybrid sales to 15 million by 2020. The plan is to phase out gas-powered vehicles
almost entirely over the next thirty or so years. The Dodge Viper – plagued by slow sales – could
be on the way out. At least that’s what’s implied in a proposed
agreement between Chrysler-Fiat and the united auto workers. The deal talks about shuttering production
at FCA’s Viper plant by 2017. Stay tuned. I’m Jerry Reynolds the car pro.
